Stories Remembered Founder Kathryn Deen is an award-winning professional journalist with recognition from the Inland Press Association, Society of Professional Journalists, Florida Society of News Editors, Florida Press Club and Florida Magazine Association.

She spent four years telling seniors’ stories as a reporter and editor in The Villages retirement community in Central Florida. She also worked for The Seminole Tribune and Orlando Business Journal. She has interviewed celebrities including Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte, American Idol Scotty McCreery and Academy Award nominee Minnie Driver. Her special reports delved into longevity’s links with marriage and faithAmerica’s organ crisis, the fight for Alzheimer’s fundingemergency responders’ roadside risk and Florida’s dog track dilemma.

Kathryn graduated with honors from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a journalism degree and minors in business and leadership.
